Student drowns

MUZAFFARABAD: A student of a private university in Islamabad drowned in a reservoir while picnicking on the outskirts of Rawalakot on Sunday, an official said.

Shamsul Wahab was among over 50 students and faculty members who chose the scenic Pearl Valley for a daylong sightseeing trip. Wahab took some selfies and jumped into the small reservoir for swimming.

β€œHe claimed that he could swim but while in the middle of the water he lost balance and drowned,” administration official Rizwan Latif told Dawn by telephone.
