Seven killed in Upper Dir road accident

UPPER DIR: Four women and three children from two families were killed and 11 others were injured when a passenger vehicle fell into a deep ravine here on Monday, hospital and police sources said.

Police said the passenger vehicle was going to Bin Dara from Brawal. They said that when the vehicle reached Jaba, the driver lost control over the steering and it fell into a deep ravine. As a result, seven people were killed on the spot.

The victims included Yaqoob Khan’s two sisters and wife, Bacha Rehman’s sister-in-law and three children.

The injured were shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital, Brawal, from where the seriously wounded were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar.

The two families are stated to be relatives.

The driver identified as Mohammad Din, who is a village council nazim, was also among in the injured persons.
