Paramedics threaten protest

QUETTA: The Balochistan Paramedical Staff Association has threatened to launch a long march from several districts of Balochistan to Quetta on April 17 in support of legitimate rights of paramedics across the province.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, chairman of the association Mohammad Tariq Kadizai said: “We have been struggling for the legitimate rights of paramedics for over last four years. Despite our protest, our paramedics are performing their duties at hospitals.

“In the health sector, 92 per cent of services are being provided by paramedics, but the provincial government has overlooked our serious issues, which is why we have decided to kick off a long march to Quetta from Nushki, Kalat, Sibi, Qila Saifullah, and other districts of Balochistan.”

Mr Kadizai asked the provincial government to address problems of paramedics urgently.
