PML-N to ensure KP’s progress, says Muqam

SWABI: Adviser to the prime minister and PML-N leader Amir Muqam has said that they would make their party a dominant political force in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking to media persons at the residence of Shiraz Akram Bacha here on Thursday, he claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leadership had failed to deliver in KP and as such there was a great vacuum in the provincial politics.

“We have focused on making our party stronger by delivering according to the people’s expectations,” he said. Answering a question, he said that they would reorganise PML-N at the grassroots level. The progress and prosperity of the province is linked with PML-N, he claimed.

“The PML-N would emerge victorious in 2018 general election,” he said. He added that PTI chairman Imran Khan should remove KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser after corruption allegations surfaced against him.

Mr Muqam lashed out at former president Asif Ali Zardari for his continued campaign against the federal government and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that they knew about the record of Mr Zardari.

TOMATO PRICE: Tomato price has doubled during the last five days from Rs60 per kilogramme to Rs120 per kilogramme despite its low quality.

“The low quality of tomato should have reduced its price. It was responsibility of the administration because each morning the tehsil municipal administration issues the price list,” said Ahmad Ali of Swabi city. Reports from far-flung Gadoon Amazai mountainous belt said that tomato had been sold at Rs140 per kg there.

Asked about the rising prices, the traders said that when they were getting tomato at a high price from the vegetable market how they could sell the same at low price.

Consumers said that the government should check the increasing prices of vegetables. In addition, they said that availability of quality vegetables should be ensured in the market. They demanded of the district administration to ensure that traders displayed the office price lists.
