TAXILA: A couple was shot and injured during a robbery in Jameelabad area in Taxila police area on Thursday.

Police sources said Zahida Bibi while returning home after shopping along with her son when two armed men came on a motorcycle and intercepted her near her home and tried to take off her jewelry, but she shouted for help which drew her husband Mohammad Hafeez’s attention who came to her rescue.

When both were resisting, the robbers opened fire on them and later fled with the gold jewellery. The couple received multiple bullet injuries and was shifted to POF hospital Wah where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

In another incident, a teenage girl was abducted in Wah Saddar police area. A man reported to police that his daughter was going home when unknown persons abducted her.

Respective police stations have registered separate cases and started further investigation.
