Four shot dead in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: Four persons, including two brothers, were shot dead in Speen Khak area of Chirat here on Sunday night.

Police said that two brothers, Lal Said Khan and Sirtaj Khan, were sitting in a shop when their opponents opened fire, critically injuring them. Two passersby -- Hassan Ayaz and Zabeta Shah – also received bullets in the incident and died on the spot.

The dead and the injured brothers were shifted to Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Hospital, Pabbi, where the wounded succumbed to their injuries. The bodies were handed over to relatives after autopsy report.

However, relatives of the two brothers registered FIR against three brothers -- Abdul Akbar, Zakir and Mukhtiar, and their cousin Wali Zaman -- in the Pabbi police station. The complainants said that they had an old enmity with the family of the accused.

The police registered the case and started search in the surrounding areas to arrest the accused, who escaped after the incident.
