2 FC personnel injured in Balochistan hand grenade attack

At least five people, including two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were injured in what police claim was a targeted a hand grenade attack in Balochistan's Turbat city on Sunday.

Two unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle lobbed a hand grenade in the Cinema Chowk area of Turbat, injuring three civilians and two FC personnel.

The attackers fled from the scene on their motorcycles and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Business at Cinema Chowk immediately came to a halt as shop owners shuttered their shops and evacuated the area soon after the attack occurred.

Police and FC personnel reached the crime scene and an investigation is underway.

In a separate incident, a blast damaged a bridge in Gwadar's Sur Bandar area.

According to police, unidentified assailants had planted explosives at the bridge and detonated them, damaging the structure. There was no loss of life, however, reported in the blast.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.
