ICC to review PSL final’s security arrangements in key moot

KARACHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) will review the elaborate security arrangements which were made in Lahore for the all-important Pakistan Super League final held at the Gaddafi Stadium on March 5.

An ICC spokesmen confirmed to Dawn News on Thursday that ICC will be reviewing the security arrangements made for the PSL final in Lahore in its next meeting.

“Sean Norris, the ICC Security Manager, attended the final in Lahore. The next ICC board meeting is scheduled from April 23-27 where an update on those security arrangements will be provided to the member boarda with an advice on future steps,” the ICC spokesman said.

According to sources, the security managers of the other cricket boards will also submit their report on the PSL final in the ICC meeting. It may be mentioned here that the security advisors from England, Sri Lanka, Australia and Bangladesh cricket boards also attended the PSL final.

According to reliable sources, the PCB is constantly in touch with the West Indies, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Cricket Boards for a bilateral series this year and the next month’s ICC meeting will be absolutely crucial for a decision in this regard.
