The government on Tuesday revised prices of petroleum products, increasing the price of petrol by Rs1.71, reported Radio Pakistan.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said the price of petrol has been increased by Rs1.71 per litre, while high-speed diesel will be pricier by Rs1.58 per litre for the next 15 days.

Petrol will now be sold at Rs73 per litre and diesel at Rs82.

The price of kerosene oil has increased by Rs0.75, while light speed diesel has increased in price from Rs43.34 to Rs44 rupees.

Dar added that the government will continue to provide a subsidy of Rs3 billion on petroleum products.

"The new prices will become effective midnight," said the finance minister.

During the previous fortnightly revision of fuels prices, petrol prices had been increased by Rs2.25.
