KARACHI: A ‘robber’ was killed in an ‘encounter’ in Orangi Town on Sunday.

The Mominabad police said a police party on patrol at 3am signalled a man in Faqir Colony to stop. However, he opened fire on the police. In the exchange of gunfire he sustained wounds and died, the police added. His identity remained unclear. The police claimed to have recovered a pistol and a mobile phone, which was ‘snatched’ in the same area.
