Afroze guides Innovators home

KARACHI: Afroze Hasan excelled with a sparkling century to help Innovators defeat Shahab & Company by 27 runs in their fixture of the KCCA Inter-departmental Cricket League here on Thursday.

Batting first at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground, Innovators posted 277-8 in the stipulated 50 overs with Afroze making 107 in a 106-ball knock studded with 12 boundaries and one six and Farid Shah 51 that included five fours and one six.

Shahab & Company, in reply, were all out for 250 in 48 overs despite Saud Islam contributing 88 from 91 deliveries with nine fours and one six.

Slow let-armer Junaid Naeem claimed four wickets for 29 runs.

In another match played at the KCCA Stadium, Rangoonwala sealed a four-wicket victory over Super Quality Foods.

Ahmed Hasan hit 57 (nine fours and one six) and Mohammad Shoaib 48 (six fours and one six) as Rangoo­nwala chased down a target of 220 in the 40th over.
