PML-N to reorganise its lawyers wing in KP

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has announced to reorganise its lawyers wing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and end rift in the party.

Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, Advocate Maryam Javed Gandapur said that nation had attached expectations with PML-N as it was the only party that could steer the country out of the crises.

Flanked by PML-N Lawyers Forum deputy secretary information Khwaja Aurangzeb and others, she said that she resigned from PPP and rejoined PML-N to play role in strengthening lawyers wing of the party.

Ms Gandapur, the daughter of Peshawar High Court former judge Javed Nawaz Gandapur, said that other political parties failed to come up to expectations of the nation. She said that only Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could do something for development of the terrorism-hit country.

She said that Pakhtuns had voted PTI to power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the party wasted precious time in staging sit-ins and protest rallies. She said that the Panama case also wasted precious time of judiciary. “Politicians should stop opposition for the sake of opposition and should work jointly in national interests,” she added.

Ms Gandapur urged the leaders of all political parties to join hands with sincerity for solution of the issues being faced by the unemployed and poverty-hit people.

“I don’t believe in grouping in the party. We will try to play effective role for removal of internal differences among leaders, if there are any, and put the party on track of success so that it could win maximum seats in next elections,” she added.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Aurangzeb came hard on the provincial government and said that Imran Khan was given a chance to prove his ability and political acumen but he failed to do so.

“People should compare Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government with that of Punjab and decide as to which party is capable to run affairs of the country,” he said and added that reforms in police, health and education were next to nil as there was no visible change in those departments.

Mr Aurangzeb urged Imran Khan to ensure initiation of some mega schemes in the province to overcome poverty, unemployment and lawlessness and restore confidence of people in the provincial government by improving quality of healthcare and education.
