Qalandar blast meant to scare away investors, says Zubair

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair has termed the terrorist attack at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar a conspiracy aimed at disturbing the peace in the province because with the restoration of peace in Sindh, Karachi in particular, foreign entrepreneurs have been taking keen interest in investing in different projects here.

He praised the people for foiling the conspiracy through their unity, and said that with the improvement of the law and order situation, foreign investment would increase while local industrialists and traders would also feel confident enough to make investments.

The governor stated this during his meeting with a delegation of businessmen led by Siraj Qasim Teli who called on him at Governor House on Tuesday.

During the meeting they exchanged views on industrialists’ and traders’ cooperation with the government in restoring peace in the province, investment, new industries’ establishment, promotion of ties between the government and traders and other issues of mutual interest.

Gov Zubair said industrialists and traders were not only close to his own heart but the prime minister also gave them importance because the business community was the backbone of any state and played an important role in the progress of a country.
