30-day remand of blast ‘facilitator’

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday allowed the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) to have 30-day physical custody of Anwaarul Haq, the alleged facilitator of Charing Cross Mall Road suicide attack.

The CTD personnel produced the suspect before the court under strict security and sought his custody for further interrogation. The authorities have already aired his confessional statement on news channels. The CTD had arrested him in Landa Bazaar. The anti-terrorism law allows an investigating agency to keep physical custody of a suspect up to 90 days.
