People who spill innocent blood would be brought to justice: Nisar

Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said that it is heartening to see that the country’s Civil and Military top-brass is dedicated towards the eradication of terrorism even in the face of the recent rise in terrorist activities.

"We need the same spirit and valour today as we showed at the time of the Army Public School attack," he said in an informal conversation with journalists

The people who spill innocent blood, be it people inside or outside the country, would be brought to justice at any cost, he added.

The interior minister said our national spirit and unity against terrorism is the means to our victory and our means to defeat terrorism in the country.

We should convey the message to terrorists that we are unafraid in the face of their violent attempts and rather each new attempt makes us more determined to defeat them.

He mentioned the time in 2013 when five or six incidents of terrorism and then it passed and said, “just like that time this too shall pass with the nation’s prayers.”

According to Nisar the current government’s policies in the past three years made it nearly impossible for terrorists to thrive within the country which is why they have now found refuge outside of the country from where they are forwarding their agendas.

“The initial investigation has made one thing clear, that these activities have been methodically planned to disrupt the prevailing peace in the country.”

The investigation has also made it clear that we cannot rule out the involvement of foreign terrorists in the attacks, he maintained.

Nisar said that in the recent meetings it was decided that no measure will be overlooked in bringing lasting peace to the country.

While discussing the recent terrorist activities in the country Nisar said, "All suspects of the Lahore and Peshawar blasts have been identified and it has come to light that Afghan refugees are used as handlers."

He appealed to the Afghan refugees to remember the hospitality that the government and the people of Pakistan have showed to them in the past 30 years.

"The refugees should come forward if they have any information regarding the few black sheep that are bringing shame to the whole Afghan community that resides in Pakistan."
