CM visits residences of slain policemen

SAHIWAL/OKARA/KASUR: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif reached on Wednesday Sahiwal, Renala Khurd, Depalpur and Raja Jang village of Kasur and visited the residences of the policemen who lost their lives in Lahore suicide blast on Monday.

The chief minister expressed condolences with widows, children and other family members of the policemen and gave them cheques for Rs10 million each.

Mr Shahbaz visited the residences of head-constable Asmat Ali in Sahiwal, constable Muhammad Nadeem in Renala Khurd, constable Irfan Mahmood in Depalpur and constable Aslam in Raja Jang village, Kasur.

Separately talking to the families, the CM said the Punjab government would bear the education and medical expenditures of the children of slain policemen while their families would get salaries regularly.

Talking to the family of HC Asmat Ali in Sahiwal, the CM said the IGP had been directed that his widow Farzana and three daughters and a son got salary regularly. The CM also visited the family of constable Nadeem Tanveer Kamyana in Renala Khurd. He upgraded the Government Girls School of the village and named it after the slain constable. He also renamed the Renala-Chuchak Road as NT Kamyana Shaheed Road.

The CM also ordered installation of a water filtration plant in the village.

Kamyana’s brother was given a job in the police department.

Talking to the family of constable Irfan Mahmood in a village of Depalpur and ordered job for his elder brother and renamed the higher secondary school of the village after him.

The chief minister also visited Kasur and met the family of constable Muhammad Aslam at Jonayki village and announced a 14-scale job in the education department for the widow of Aslam who holds a master’s degree in English literature. He also announced a job in the police force for the younger brother of Aslam.
