Several political activists join ANP in Dir

TIMERGARA: Several political activists from Jamaat-i-Islami and Pakistan Muslim League-N on Saturday announced to quit their parties and join the Awami National Party in Toormang Dara here.

A function in this regard was held at Shah Toot area with the ANP lawmaker Malik Mohammad Zeb in the chair. The ANP workers and area elders attended the function.

Alamgir Khan, Said Nawab, Sultan Zeb, Mohammad Badshah, Fazal Nawab, Sher Alam, Liaqat Khan, Gul Zaman, Umar Hayat and others joined the ANP.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Zeb said people of Lower and Upper Dir were fed up with the ruling parties due to their failure to deliver. He claimed that it was only the ANP that served people during crucial times.

The ANP leader said the government had no funds for payment of salary to its employees.

He said the popularity graph of the ANP was improving in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and it would come into power again in 2018.

Similarly, dozens of workers from PPP, JI and PTI announced to join the ANP in Asharo Lajbok Darra. They made the announcement during a function the other day.

On the occasion, ANP district vice president Mohammad Ayub Khan said then Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ameer Haidar Hoti had visited Lower Dir several times despite security risks and announced development projects in the area. But, he said Chief Minister Pervez Khattak did not bother to visit the district to announce any project.

Naseebullah, Inamullah, Hakimullah, Dilsoz Khan, Gauhar Zaman, Israr Khan, Imtiaz, Tahir Khan, Asghar Khan and others announced to join the ANP.

POWER TRANSFORMERS: Two 200KVA power transformers were installed at Danwa and Zawal Baba areas on Saturday. PPP Senator Ahmad Hassan Khan has arranged the transformers.

Addressing functions on the occasion, former president district bar Jehan Bahdar Advocate, who was the chief guest, claimed the PPP was ray of hope for the poor. He said the party had great contribution for restoration of democracy in the country.

He thanked Senator Ahmad Hassan for arranging the power transformers and said it would help reduce overloading in the areas.
