Six FC personnel injured in two explosions

QUETTA/GWADAR: At least six Frontier Corps personnel and a civilian were injured in two explosions that hit vehicles carrying FC patrolling teams in Chaman and Kech district on Tuesday.

In the first incident, two FC men and a civilian were injured after a remote-controlled explosive device planted under a bridge in Chaman went off when an FC vehicle was passing by.

The vehicle and a rickshaw standing nearby were badly damaged. The injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital for treatment, officials said.

They said a search operation was being conducted in the entire town and the injured were out of danger. Police registered a case.

In the other incident, four FC personnel were injured when a bomb struck an FC convoy in Kech district late in the evening.

Official sources said the FC convoy was on way to Turbat and was struck by an explosive device placed by the road near the Khairabad area, some 30km from Tump.

“Four soldiers were injured in the blast and two vehicles badly damaged,” a security official said.
