Two policemen, including an inspector, were shot dead while another official received bullet injuries in Balochistan's Dera Murad Jamali district area on Saturday evening.

Police officials said that unknown miscreants opened fire at a police mobile in Wapda road area of Dera Murad Jamali, killing Inspector Hidayatullah Kolachi on the spot. His gunman succumbed to his injuries on the way to a nearby hospital.

The assailants escaped unhurt from the spot.

Police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies reached the spot and investigation into the incident went underway.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
