KP govt busy in irrelevant activities: Hoti

MINGORA: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said here on Thursday that provincial government failed to deliver as it was busy in irrelevant activities.

Addressing a big gathering of ANP workers in Matta during his two-day visit to Swat, he said that there were many other important issues besides Panama Papers case in the country.

“Panama case is in the court and we all should wait for the final decision. The provincial government failed to initiate any mega project in the province. It is only taking credit for the projects initiated by the previous provincial government of ANP,” he claimed.

Mr Hoti said that provincial government was inflicting losses on the province by wasting time and spending money on staging sit-ins. He said that PTI did nothing for the development and prosperity of the province except staging rallies and sit-ins.

He claimed that ANP would win the next general elections in province.

ANP provincial vice president Ayoub Khan Asharey, Swat president Sher Shah Khan and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

Mr Hoti also addressed lawyers on Wednesday and said that that Pakhtuns would never tolerate any injustice with them in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. ANP would never allow anyone to usurp the due share of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the multi-billion dollar project, he added.

Mr Hoti also praised the sacrifices of Swat people. “The people of Swat played key role in the restoration of peace in the valley. They have proved that they are peace loving people,” he added.

The ANP leader also paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of lawyers in strengthening democracy and democratic institutions in country.

He said that lawyers played great role in putting the country back on the track of democracy.

“Lawyers across the country revolted against the dictatorship at a time when the entire country was reeling under dictatorship of a military ruler,” he said.

He added that lawyers rendered sacrifices for restoration of democracy in the country.

Mr Hoti said that government of ANP in the province faced the menace of terrorism and extremism but the policies of the party helped to tackle the situation and uproot terrorism.
