Police officials face departmental action

ISLAMABAD: A DSP and five SHOs on Monday faced departmental action including transfer and forfeiture of their services as they failed to check crime in their area, police said.

SSP Sajid Kaini ordered action after warnings issued earlier could not improve their performance.

The police department transferred the Loi Bher SHO, Inspector Abid Ikram to Rescue-15, besides forfeiting two-year services of SHO Industrial Area Inspector Khalid Awan and SHO Sabzi Mandi Inspector Chaudhry Arshad, they stated.

Similarly, a year was deducted from the services of SHO Aabpara inspector Tanveer Abbasi and SHO Ramna inspector Irshad Abro, they added.

SSP Kinai was also unhappy with the performance of the Shahzad Town DSP and issued him warning, besides scolding him, they added.

Last week, a gang of six robbers looted cash and valuables worth over 20million rupees from the farm house of Pir Naqeebur Rehman’s daughter, police said.

According to the police, this was one of the biggest robberies in the capital during the recent past, they added.
