15 students to tour Japan next week

KARACHI: The Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Toshikazu Isomura, has expressed his willingness to continue to endorse cultural interactions between the people of the two countries.

He was speaking at the send-off ceremony and orientation for a delegation of 15 university students under Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth (JENESYS) 2016 programme on Friday.

Mr Isomura said: “We hope Pakistani youth will exhibit more interest in Japan and contribute to strengthen friendly relations between Japan and Pakistan from their experience of the visit.’’

The delegation comprising three students from Balochistan and 12 students from four universities in Sindh, including University of Karachi and NED university along with their supervisor, Waseemullah, will depart for Japan on Jan 16.

Initiated in 2007, JENESYS aims to develop future leaders from Saarc countries by deepening mutual understanding and learning to maintain peace and harmony in Asia, he said.
