Educationist laid to rest

SWABI: Noted educationist and former vice-chancellor of the University of Peshawar Dr Abdul Mateen, who died on Friday, was laid to rest in his native village Asoka Sharif near Karnal Sher Khan Kalli here on Saturday. He left behind a widow and three sons to morn his death. 

People from different walks of life attended his funeral prayers.  He served as the vice chancellor of the University of Peshawar from 1989 to 1991. He had also served principal of the historic Islamia College Peshawar in 1980s.
