Bajaur political alliance leader resigns

KHAR: Haji Said Badsha, president of All Bajaur Political Parties Alliance, an umbrella organisation of all political parties in the agency, has announced his resignation from the alliance presidency after developing serious differences with its leaders on Fata reforms.

He made the announcement during a news conference here the other day.

Mr Badshah, who is also vice-chief of JUI-F local chapter, said difference over the Fata reforms, merger of Fata with KP and use of abusive language against the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman and other party leaders by the alliance leaders at a public rally a few days ago were the reasons behind his resignation.

Flanked by JUI Bajaur emir Maulana Abdur Rasheed and other party workers, he accused the alliance leadership of ignoring its mission.

He alleged that the leaders were using the alliance for their personal benefits instead of pursuing the mission it was created for.

Other JUI-F leaders said their party was neither against the reforms nor was it supporting the colonial governance system in the tribal areas.
