Students protest shifting of exam centre
BATTAGRAM: Students on Saturday demonstrated here against Hazara University for shifting the BA supplementary examination centre from Battagram to Mansehra.
They said that shifting of the exam centre away from their district had stressed them out as they could not afford expenditures on transportation, hotel stay and food in Mansehra.
They accused the varsity management of not considering the problems of the poor students before making the decision. The protesting students warned of boycotting the upcoming exams if the varsity didn’t withdraw the decision.
WHEELCHAIRS DISTRIBUTED: Wheelchairs and winter package were distributed among special persons here on Saturday.
In this regard a ceremony was held at Al-Markaz Islami organised by Al-Khidmat Foundation. The foundation in collaboration with CHEF International, an NGO, distributed 28 wheelchairs among special persons while winter packages were distributed among 28 orphans.
On the occasion, the foundation’s provincial vice-president Malik Pervaiz said the organisation’s objective was to help the distressed communities.
Special persons expressed happiness over the gesture shown by the organisations. They said wheelchairs would help them move around with ease.
