Decision on Sambrial till July
SIALKOT, Dec 18: The provincial government will take the final decision on the status of Sambrial in July next year after consultation with politicians of the Sialkot district.
This was announced by Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi while speaking to a big public gathering at Sambrial on Thursday.
The chief minister said that since then the Sambrial would enjoy its existing status of a sub-tehsil. He said that his visits to various districts would expedite development process which would help resolve public problems.
Concrete steps were being taken to maintain financial discipline in administrative affairs and improve performance of government employees, he said.
Later, the chief minister visited Sambrial Press Club and announced for it a Rs0.5 million grant. He also announced to establish a journalists colony at Sambrial.
He pledged to provide a special grant of Rs30 million for the provision of Sui gas facility to Sambrial and villages of Jaissarwala, Bheello Mahar, Ranjhai and Mandranwala to Sambrial. He said that Government Islamia Boys Inter College, Sambrial, would also be upgraded to degree level.
The chief minister also allocated a sum of Rs1 million for the Daska Bar Association and announced giving proprietary rights to inhabitants of Alleywali and Jinnah Abadi, Sambrial.
