Panama case be decided: Shujaat

LAHORE: PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Husain has said we should never use the word ‘minority’ as we all are Pakistanis and should be proud of it.

Talking to reporters after cutting a Christmas cake along with Christian leaders and Bishops at the Muslim League House here on Saturday, he said during Pervaiz Elahi’s tenure as chief minister the Christian educational institutions were returned to them (Christian bodies), minorities were given representation in assemblies besides special quota in jobs, setting up separate ministry and giving equal development funds to them were ensured.

Mr Shujaat said the Panama case should be decided as Pakistan was passing through a critical period.

He said those who celebrated the anti-corruption day themselves were involved in corruption. He congratulated the Pakistan Christian Party for affiliating itself with PML-Q.

SEMINAR: Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu says the provincial government has done legislation on underage marriages and implemented five per cent quota in government jobs for minorities.

Addressing a seminar ‘stand up for some ones’ rights today’ held in connection with the International Human Rights Day on Saturday, he said there was a need to change our social behaviours as division of human beings in different sections created a sense of deprivation that led to extremism in society.
