Removal of agency surgeon demanded

PESHAWAR: The Paramedics Association of Khyber Agency has accused the agency surgeon of misusing his official powers and demanded an inquiry against him and his replacement.

Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, Paramedics Association (Ittehad Group), Khyber Agency, president Khan Mir Molagori accused the agency surgeon of involvement in corruption and misuse of powers, and demanded his immediate removal from the post.

He claimed that agency surgeon Dr Niaz Afridi was least bothered to provide quality treatment to the people. He recalled that deputy secretary Fata, Mr Miraj, had initiated an inquiry against Dr Afridi on the directives of additional chief secretary, Fata, seven month ago over alleged misappropriation of funds.

Mr Molagori said that departmental action was taken against a clerk by the authorities concerned in this case, but Dr Afridi was yet to face the inquiry. He said that all employees were kept deprived of salaries since June 2016.

He claimed that anti-measles campaign was launched in Khyber Agency in official records only.

He alleged that the agency surgeon had been withdrawing salaries against three vacant positions of different categories. He demanded of KP governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and ACS Fata to take action against Dr Afridi.
