Army officer’s parents robbed

RAWALPINDI: A man and his wife were robbed on Sunday, police said.

An army official, Arsalan Khan, told police that he had received a phone call on Friday that his father was lying unconscious near a bank in Lal Kurti.

He said his father was later moved to the hospital by Rescue 1122 officials. He had called his mother, who was not answering her phone and was later found unconscious in her home as well. She was later moved to the Military Hospital. Arsalan said his father came to his senses on Saturday and informed the police that he was returning home after meeting with a friend in DHA Phase II and was near Bahria Town when a woman asked him to give her a lift to Lal Kurti and that it was an emergency.

When they reached Lal Kurti, the woman asked the victim to get her something to drink. She then offered him a drink as well, which was laced with drugs that made him unconscious. The woman stole his purse and mobile phone.

Meanwhile, another woman entered the army officer’s home, according to the CCTV footage and somehow knocked his mother unconscious and stole five gold jewellery sets, a pair of earrings, seven gold rings and three mobile phones as well as Rs124,000 in cash. The woman had given her name as Irshad Bibi when entering Askari VII.
