LANDI KOTAL: Unidentified gunmen killed a tribal elder in Shah Kas area of Jamrud on Friday.

Khasadar officials said that Stana Gul of Malakdinkhel tribe of Bara was coming out of a mosque after offering Friday prayers when gunmen opened fire, killing him on the spot.

The assailants managed to escape the scene, but Jamrud tehsildar Asmatullah claimed to have arrested one of the accused later during a search operation. Motive behind the killing could not be immediately known.
