APROPOS the report ‘NAP-related police operation stopped after raids on PML-N UC chairmen outhouses’ (Oct 7).

It seems the government has reneged on its commitment to depoliticise the police and ensure indiscriminate action against criminals. The nexus between criminal gangs and terrorist organisations is no secret.

Such political meddling into the operational matters of the police would not only demoralise the force but would also lend credence to the claims that the government is unwilling to implement the National Action Plan in letter and inspirit.
