Man, minor boy found dead in Mohmand

GHALANAI: A man and a minor boy were found dead in separate incidents here on Sunday.

Officials said a note was found on the bulled-riddled body of a man which identified the victim as Falak Naz, resident of Rajjar, Charsadda district.

Assistant Political Agent, Lower Mohmand, Naveed Akbar said the local administration contacted the Charsadda district administration, police and local people, but they did not recognise the man.

The body was brought to the agency headquarters hospital, Ghalanai, for identification from where it was shifted to Ekkaghund where it was buried after no one identified the victim.

Meanwhile, the local administration also found body of a nine-year-old boy in Ekkaghund. Officials said no one had yet contacted them for the child. The local administration appealed to the people to identify the victim.

SECURITY SITUATION BETTER: Political agent Mahmood Aslam Wazir has said the law and order situation in Mohmand Agency is satisfactory.

Talking to journalists here, he said media’s role was very crucial in development of a society. He urged the local journalists to pinpoint people’s problems.

Mr Wazir claimed that the government had restored peace in Mohmand and that development activities were continuing.

However, he lamented that a bad image of the tribal region was portrayed in media contrary to the ground reality.

He demanded that the local journalists highlight the real problems of the tribal areas and improve its positive image at the world stage. “There are no restrictions and journalists are free to report on any issue of public interest,” he said.

The political agent said all the development projects were being initiated in consultation with the tribesmen.

He asked the line departments’ officials to deliver services to the people by attending to their duties regularly. He said absent employees would be taken care of.
