Confrontation not to solve problems: Sabir

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PML-N president Pir Sabir Shah said on Sunday that as a result of its confrontational policies rest of political parties had withdrawn support from Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and as such it should accept the reality and wait till 2018 general elections.

In a statement issued here, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader also said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were well aware of PTI’s policies and they would never vote for its candidates in future because the provincial government had badly disappointed them during its over three-year tenure.

He alleged that the provincial government had removed head of the KP Ehtesab Commission for the simple reason that it was about to take action against some corrupt provincial ministers.

Mr Shah said that there was no logic behind staging any kind of protest because the Supreme Court had already initiated work on Panama Papers leaks case. He claimed that the protest was meant to build pressure on the court.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has already presented himself for accountability before the Supreme Court and now Imran Khan should wait till the court takes the decision,” he suggested.

He claimed that Mr Khan also faced the allegations regarding misuse of funds collected for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and making offshore company and thus he would have to face the accountability.

Mr Shah advised the PTI chief to avoid confrontational politics as such steps would endanger democracy in the country and the entire responsibility would rest with him.
