THIS is apropos your editorial ‘PTI’s protest tactics’ (Oct 19). Several points have been highlighted that should be heeded by all political players in order to resolve the impasse on the formation of a commission on the Panama paper leaks.

The ruling party is stubbornly defying the ethical norms of all civilised society to present themselves for accountability before regulatory institutions, as well as before the ultimate sovereign.

In a genuine democratic polity, people who occupy positions at top the echelons are required to set an example of integrity, honesty and uprightness; our leaders sidestep these principles with impunity.

The opposition parties have every right to protest but they should not cross the limit to put the democratic system at stake.
