PARACHINAR: The tribal elders have agreed that domestic consumers would pay Rs300 per connection to Tribal Electric Supply Company (Tesco).

Senior officials of the local administration and Tesco held a meeting with tribal elders here on Monday and decided that domestic consumers would pay electricity charges to the company. MNA Sajid Hussain Turi and Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali Khan also attended the meeting.

Talking to journalists after the meeting, MNA Sajid Turi said that consumers in rural areas of the agency would pay monthly Rs300 per connection. He said that Tesco would supply electricity to the areas for 10 hours a day.

The MNA said that elders and Wapda officials would sign an agreement in that connection soon. He said that domestic and commercial consumers in Parachinar had been paying electricity bills regularly. After formal agreement, consumers in rural areas would also pay power bills, he added.
