Body of 7th grade student found

GHALANAI: Body of a seventh grade student of a private school was found in the mountainous area of Babikhel village of Haleemzai tehsil in Mohmand Agency on Thursday.

Local people said that 14-year-old Iftikhar Khan, son of Niamatullah, was a 7th grade student of Iqra Public School, Chanda. They said that Iftikhar left his home three days ago, saying that he was going to Azad Kashmir for work.

They said that his body was found near mountainous area of Petawo in Babikhel village.

Locals said that the Khassadar and Levies personnel shifted the body to the agency headquarters hospital, Ghalanai, where it was handed over to the relatives.

BAZAAR REOPENS: The Ghalanai bazaar will reopen today (Friday), as talks between the traders union and local administration proved successful here on Thursday.

Assistant political agent Mohmand Haseebur Rehman said that during a jirga the local shopkeepers agreed to check the entry of suspects into the bazaar. They also formed a committee for checking people at the entry and exit points of the bazaar.

After successful talks, the administration allowed the shopkeepers to open the bazaar.

Mohmand Agency political agent Mahmood Aslam Wazir along with security officials had visited the Ghalanai bazaar on Thursday to check the security arrangements there.

Tribal elders of Haleemzai and a number of local shopkeepers were also present on this occasion. Expressing anger over the unsatisfactory security arrangements he had ordered closure of the bazaar.
