Outgoing CS relinquishes charge

PESHAWAR: Outgoing chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amjad Ali Khan, on Tuesday relinquished charge of his office.

Sources told Dawn that additional chief secretary, KP, Mohammad Azam Khan had taken over charge as the acting chief secretary.

Earlier on Sept 19, the KP government had sent a letter to the Establishment Division, asking it to repatriate the services of the chief secretary with immediate effect. The letter also desired to authorise Mr Azam Khan to hold additional charge of the chief secretary’s office till a regular incumbent was posted to the office.

The Establishment Division notified the repatriation of Mr Amjad a day later on Sept 20. The sources said that the provincial government was yet to find Mr Amjad’s successor. The KP government’s spokesperson Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani told Dawn that they were looking for a candidate for the post. He said that they would prefer someone who belonged to the province for this position.
