Two traders among four killed in dacoity bids

VEHARI: Two dacoits and a trader were killed during a dacoity bid while another trader was killed in a separate similar incident in the district on Friday.

In the first incident, three dacoits broke into the shop of Imran on Dokota Road, Mailsi. During the dacoity, Imran resisted against the dacoits who opened fire on him. As a result, Imran died on the spot.

However, his father, Gulzar retaliated and fired at the dacoits when they were trying to flee on a motorcycle. He killed two of the dacoits while their accomplice, identified as Babar, was caught by the locals. He was handed over to police.

The second incident happened in Burewala. Fertilizer shop owner Saleem was sitting at his shop in Grain Market when a masked dacoit snatched his cash bag. When Saleem resisted, the dacoit opened fire on him and fled.

The injured Saleem died on the way to hospital.
