Pindi board announces HSSC results

RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi announced the Higher Secondary School Certificate-II (HSSC-II) results on Saturday with pass percentage standing at 56.95.

The results were announced by the Rawalpindi Board controller examination, Abid Kharal at a ceremony held at Government Viqar-un-Nisa Postgraduate College for Women.

Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar awarded gold medals, prizes and other certificates to the position holders. According to the results, the girls of Pre-Medical Group clinched overall first three positions in the examination.

A total 58,755 students appeared in the examinations, of them 33,460 students passed. Five cases of unfair means or cheating were also detected.

Though most of the position holders belonged to private schools, the students of government colleges also clinched six positions in different categories. Even in Pre-Engineering Group, girls bagged overall first three positions.

Mahnoor Mahmood (1,025 marks) of Jinnah Institute of Informatics for Girls 470-D, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi stood first in pre-engineering group while Rimsha Tariq (1,021 marks) of Punjab College for Women F-828, Satellite Town and Maria Tariq (1019 marks) of Punjab College for Women F-828, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi bagged second and third positions.

In Science General Group too girls shone. Sara Afzal (993 marks) of Punjab College for Women, F-828 Satellite Town, Rawalpindi stood first while Bushra Ahmed (965 marks) and Komal Fayyaz (960 marks) also of Punjab College for Women F-828, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi grabbed second and third positions position.
