20 killed during Eid days in parts of KP

CHARSADDA: At least 20 people were killed and several others injured in separate incidents in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during Eid days.

In Charsadda, three people of a family were shot dead allegedly over a marriage dispute. The incident took place in the limits of Umerzai police station where Daud Jan, Ziarat Khan and Ashraf allegedly opened fire on their uncle and two cousins. All three were killed on the spot.

The complainant, Amna, told Umerzai police that her husband, Subhanullah, was on his way along with two nephews Bilal and Wisal when the accused opened fire on them.

She said that the attackers were also Subhan’s nephews and one of them identified as Daud was engaged with his daughter. She said that Subhanullah was against this match and wanted to marry her daughter with Bilal. She said that the accused also forcibly took away the girl at gunpoint.

Police registered an FIR and have started investigations. Separately, in another incident three people, including a woman, were killed in traffic accidents in Charsadda district.

In Swabi, five people were killed and four others injured in separate incidents during Eidul Azha days.

In proper Swabi city, a man killed his brother-in-law over a family dispute.

A passerby, identified as Sajjad Ali, was also killed when Naveed Ali allegedly opened fire on Ameer Shad, his brother-in-law. An FIR has been registered in city police station.

One person was killed and two others were injured in Tordher village when a motorcycle collided with an auto-rickshaw in the main bazaar.

The motorcyclist, identified as Junaid Khan, was killed in the accident. The injured included Asif Khan and Hidayat Khan.

One person was killed in a road accident in Charbagh village. Also, the Kalu Khan police station confirmed the killing of a child and injuring of two more in another road accident.

In Lakki Marwat, seven people were killed in separate incidents during Eid days.

One incident took place in Shamoni Khattak village. According to police, Baitullah Jan and Mohammad Naseer were shot dead by their opponents over a blood feud. A case has been registered against Naseeb Khan, Zahid Khan, Kamal, Khan Nawaz, Rauf Khan and Khan Sarwer on the complaint of Asmatullah.

The police said that three villagers, including Ismail, Mohammad Naseer and Niaz Dil, were gunned down in separate firing incidents in Tarikhel village in the limits of Tajori police station.

A villager, Tahir Khan, was shot dead by his rivals over blood feud in Wazir Kallay in Darra Pezu town. Mohammad Anwar, brother of the victim, has nominated Baseer Khan, Shazaman and Misal Khan in the FIR.

Separately, one Wahidullah was killed by armed men over a petty dispute in Nar Akbar Kallay.

In Kohat, two persons were killed in separate incidents on Thursday.

According to police, one Safeer was killed when his car was attacked in Ghebi Swar.

They said that the attackers fled the scene. Riaz Mohammad Shaheed police station has registered the case against the accused.

In another case, unknown armed men killed a woman, Maira Bibi, inside her home in Bahadar Kot. The victim’s husband, Shah Zaman, told police that they had no enmity with anyone. The police have lodged an FIR against unidentified persons.

In Shangla, a girl student was allegedly killed in accidental firing. An official of Bisham police station claimed that a 9th grade student of Abasin Public School Shang, identified as Sidra, was killed when a gun went off accidentally while her eight-year-old cousin Abubakar was playing with it.
