DERA GHAZI KHAN: An anti-terrorism court on Monday remanded six suspects in the Dajal riots case in judicial custody. Two suspects were discharged from the case while 21 are already on judicial remand.

After two-day physical remand, the DG Khan ATC sent six suspects on judicial remand while the court discharged Abid and Qurban from the case.

On Aug 8, a man was killed by robbers. After the incident, residents of Dajal Town held a protest demonstration against what they said police failure to curb the rising incidence of robbery.

Later, the protest turned into riots as protesters besieged Dajal police station and torched five vehicles, including car of Rajanpur DPO.

Police had registered two separate cases against protesters and robbers.

REMAND EXTENDED: The Dera Ghazi Khan ATC on Monday extended physical remand of 16 gangsters, including Chotoo, who were produced before the court.

The court extended for 19 days the physical remand of Ghulam Rasool Chotoo and his 15 accomplices who had surrendered to army during Kacha Jamal operation in Rajanpur.

A joint investigation team, headed by District Police Officer Atta Muhammad is investigation the cases. The undertrials will be produced in the court on Sept 17.
