Big boost for solar in the US

Because costs associated with solar technology are quickly decreasing in the US, more consumers are adopting solar as an energy source. This means that the solar industry is creating many new jobs — at a rate that is 12 times faster than the overall American economy, according to data from The Solar Foundation’s ‘Solar Jobs Census’. As of November 2015, 208,859 people worked in the American solar industry. By comparison, about 150,000 people work in the coal extraction industry.
