Private candidate shines in BA exam

TIMERGARA: A private student, Naseema Hussain, clinched the top position in the BA annual examination results announced by the University of Malakand here on Saturday.

Announcing the BA and BSc examination results, varsity’s controller of examinations Mohammad Shahid Khan said Ms Naseema bagged 433 marks and stood first, according to a press release.

He said that Mohammad Zahid got 423 and Firdaus Alam 404 marks, and stood first and second, respectively.

In BSc part-II, Lateefullah of government degree college, Bar Khalozo Bajaur Agency, got 459 marks, Sameena Naz of government girls degree college, Dargai and Asma Gul of government girls degree college, Thana, each got 453 marks, while Sunbal of government girls degree college, Dargai got 444 marks and stood first, second and third, respectively.

According to Shahid Khan, a total of 8,382 students appeared in BA part-II exam, out of which, 2,516 were declared successful and the result remained 30.02 per cent. In BSc, of the 1,509 students appeared, 1,838 were declared successful and the result remained 59.96 per cent.

Similarly, 4,202 candidates out of a total 16,146 passed the BA part-I and the result remained 26.04 per cent.

Meanwhile, taking notice of public complaints, MPA Izazul Mulk Afkari, Samar Bagh Tehsil Nazim Saeed Ahmad Bacha along with education officers on Saturday paid a surprise visit to government girls’ primary school, Ghora Banda in Jandol and found the school closed.

The school watchman informed the officials that two of the school’s teachers had been transferred while the remaining two were not punctual in their attendance.

The MPA directed the SDO Samar Bagh to immediately stop salaries of the teachers and initiate enquiry against them.
