Chitrali girl seeks justice

CHITRAL: A girl from Jughoor village of Chitral has demanded of the government and higher judiciary to bring to book the people who abducted and sold her to a person in Azad Kashmir for Rs600,000.

She threatened self-immolation if the culprits went unpunished.

Narrating her ordeal to mediapersons in Chitral Press Club here on Tuesday, she recalled that she was abducted in January last by four persons belonging to Chitral from the house of one of her relatives in Peshawar cantonment area where she was staying those days.

Flanked by her ageing father, she said that the abductors broke into the house when members of the house had gone to a wedding party.

“They intoxicated me with a spray and when I came to senses I found myself in the drawing room of one Chaudhry Anwar of Mirpur in Azad Kashmir to be told that I had been sold to him for Rs600,000,” she claimed.

“The Chaudhry had warned me that if I tried to run away I will either be shot dead or acid will be thrown on my body and he kept subjecting me to his lust,” she stated.

The girl said that she succeeded to run from his place with the help of a pious man who used to come to the house when Chaudhry was not present and managed to reach Peshawar.

She said that the local police had refused to register a case against her alleged abductors, including Qari Niamat (Shekhandeh), Qari Saboor (Garam Chashma), Said Gul (Ochusht) and Hameed Khan (Ayun).
