Sindh netball team rewarded

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Sports Sardar Bakhsh Mehr on Tuesday announced cash awards for the Sindh women netball team who won a gold medal at the 15th National Women Netball Championship.

Speaking to a six-member SNA delegation led by its president Mudassar Razzak Arain, Mehr appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Sindh Netball Association, especially during the last two years, and assured of full cooperation, support and patronage in the hour-long meeting in his office at Sindh Secretariat, Karachi.

During the meeting various issues were discussed for the development of netball from the grass-roots level.

The SNA president gave a detailed briefing of the netball activities of the parent organisation as well as the affiliated units and the up-coming events to the minister.

The minister also promised for the renovation and upgradation of Mini Sports Complex, Nazimabad and added that the sports ministry will also give scholarships to outstanding Sindh players.

Besides president Mudassar Arain, the SNA delegation comprised PNF secretary Mohammad Riaz, VPs Shazia Yousuf and Touseef Alam, international netball players Ayesha Asif and Kashif Butt.
