MULTAN: Rajanpur police arrested on Monday four more suspects in the Dajal riots/arson case.
Police had booked more that 1300 people following the Aug 8 riots that erupted after a dacoity-murder.
Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Sher Ali Gorchani said a a delegation of Dajal’s notables had visited him in Lahore since the area fell in his constituency.
“We held a meeting with Law Minister Rana Sanaullah who promised to resolve the issue,” he said. He expected a meeting with the chief minister on Tuesday (today).“To end an atmosphere of harassment due to police raids is my top priority,” he said.
Gorchani said that he would meets the IGP as well on Tuesday to seek constitution of a joint investigation team.
“I will not leave the people of Dajal alone but the acts of burning official vehicles and attack on police, including the DPO, are not justifiable at all,” he said.Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdul Rehman Asim denied any arrest on Monday.
“As many as 20 suspects are in custody who are on seven days physical remand,” he said.
