Indus in low flood at Guddu, Sukkur barrages

SUKKUR: A constant rise in the water level in the Indus River at the Guddu and Sukkur barrages has been recorded over the last 24 hours. The authorities concerned have declared ‘low flood’ at both the barrages.

According to the data recorded at the barrage control room at 6am on Monday, the water discharge at Guddu barrage upstream was 320,618 cusecs and downstream 288,340 cusecs.

The discharge at Sukkur barrage upstream was recorded at 231,377 cusecs and downstream at 175,422 cusecs.

Irrigation officials said that water discharge at Kotri upstream was recorded at 112,702 cusecs and downstream at 85,997 cusecs.

They said that water level in the Indus was going up due to ongoing heavy rains and flooding in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that water level at Tarbela and Mangla dams was also rising.
