Passes a must for watching Wagah, Ganda Singh parade

LAHORE: The City District Government of Lahore will start issuing passes to public free of cost for seeing the army parade on Aug 14 (tomorrow) at Wagha and Ganda Singh borders (in Kasur).

According to a spokesman for the city administration, the passes will be available at the CDGL’s designated points, including Azadi Chowk, Liberty Market, Allah Hoo Chowk (Johar Town) and Moon Market (Gulshan-i-Ravi) in Lahore and TMA Hall in Kasur on Saturday (today) from 3 to 6pm.

He said those having no passes should neither proceed to Wagha or Ganda Singh nor gather at various spots on the way at any place. He said those having passes must cooperate with the officials of rangers and police for verification/identification.

“They must carry their computerized identity cards and other identification documents with them while proceeding towards the venue. Those reaching the venues after 3pm will not be allowed entry,” the spokesman said.

CLEANLINESS: A Turkish waste management firm (Albayrak) carried out a special cleanliness awareness activity in Angoori Scheme on Friday.

The officials, according to a spokesperson, sensitized the general public about use of waste bins and proper disposal of waste. Prior to the activity, special cleanliness operation was carried out in the area. The residents were invited to get their waste related complaints registered. The inhabitants were urged by officials to use the helpline 1139 and social media for feedback and complaints.
