ACE finds 94 BIEK results ‘manipulated’

KARACHI: The Sindh Inquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment on Thursday said they had found 94 ‘manipulated results’ at the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) for which a case had been registered with the police and an employee was arrested, officials said.

Chairman of the Sindh ACE Ghulam Qadir Thebo said at an official meeting that no one was above the law and strict action was being taken against all ‘corrupt’ officials.

He gave the go-ahead to officers to arrest the officials involved in high profile corruption cases and register cases against them according to law.

The officials said discussion on recent raids by the ACE was held in which it was stated that 94 cases had been identified along with ‘solid evidence’ at the BIEK.

“These candidates have either been passed or given Grade A and Grade A-1 after manipulating their results,” said an official statement issued here.

It added that an FIR in that connection had also also been registered and an employee working on daily wages at the board had been arrested.

It said that successful intelligence-based raids were also conducted at the offices of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. However, no details of these raids were provided.
