Probe into girl’s death ordered

SHEIKHUPURA: Nankana District Coordination Officer Saira Umar ordered on Friday an inquiry into the death of a seven-year-old girl due to the alleged negligence of a duty doctor and a dispenser in Syedwala Rural Health Centre late on Thursday night.

The DCO said the inquiry committee headed by EDO (Health) Dr Akram had been formed.

Shahzad told reporters that he brought his daughter Mahnoor to the RHC, but dispenser Allah Rakha was sleeping in his quarter while in-charge Dr Yaqoub was absent.

He said the dispenser did not even bother to provide first-aid to his daughter which caused her death.

MEDICAL FACILITIES: DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Shahnaz Naseem informed the district media forum journalists that all medical facilities, including medicines, were being provided to every patient without discrimination.

He said special arrangements had also been made for the treatment of patients suffering from dengue.
